About Us

Our Story

Urban Descent is one of Australia’s leading outdoor charity adventure event providers.

Our charity events are a unique way for charities to fundraise. Participants get to have fun whilst giving back to the community.

We are proud that our charity events can be undertaken by people of all ages and abilities.

Formed in 2002 by Terry Hewett, OAM, we have an outstanding reputation as an established outdoor adventure company that provides high-quality adventure experiences.

This is backed up by the string of awards that we have received in this area together with our CEO, Terry, receiving an Order of Australia in 2017 in recognition of his 34 years of service to outdoor adventure education/tourism and charity work.

We are also proud of our outstanding health and safety record in delivering adventure experiences to charities.

Since establishing Australia’s first-ever charity abseil event in 2002, we have delivered more than 46 successful adventure charity events, raising more than $11,5 million for charities.

If you’re a charity and you want to try something adventurous with the aim of raising monies for your charity in a unique way, why not get in touch?

The only thing needed to triumph over loss, hardship, exploitation and violence is for good people to step up and accept the challenge.
