Our mission is to provide exhilarating urban adventures that inspire and promote philanthropy, and foster community connections. We seek courage and commitment from both individual and corporate participants to challenge themselves and make a difference in their community whilst sharing in a unique and exciting.
Our adventure fundraising events enable excited participants to take part in bucket list, money can’t buy experiences such as abseiling from city skyscrapers, zip lining across stadium fields from light towers, and swinging from iconic bridges.
Urban Descent, a registered not-for-profit, was launched by Terry Hewett OAM in 2012 to realise the full potential adventure fundraising offered to charities in Australia. Terry’s life work has been to educate, develop and heal people through; experiential learning, the outdoors and adventure. This dedication, commitment and focus saw Adventure Out conceive, design and run Australia’s first ever charity building abseil event in 2002. Since that date we have delivered 37 successful adventure fundraising events, raising more than $11 million for charities.
Offering extreme challenge in an urban setting to raise funds for charity creates an intense emotional experience for participants, draws public attention to sponsors and supporters, and raises millions of dollars for good causes in our communities, all whilst engendering a deep sense of civic duty by participants and spectators.
